NEW ADDITION

No, it's not ANOTHER baby--but it is the thing that has taken all of our time in the past few months! (Come to think of it that DOES sound like a baby) We started work on it in June, and it is almost finished-minus a few trim pieces and touch up work. Ryan drew up the plans and oversaw the work. We hired out a contractor who did some of the work, but we did a lot of it too. (Check out the tile in the bathroom!) Although we have lived in a mess for the past few months, it will be nice to have it done before the baby comes. Here are some pictures!

A view of the stairs coming down into the game room. Ryan had a neat idea to cut out some of the wall and add railings like we have upstairs. It really opened up the room and was a nice detail.

A dark view of the storage room through the pocket door of the bedroom closet. We had to get creative to use the space to our advantage. It is working so far--and the kids like to play hide and seek in there!

The game room/mini bar area. Eventually we would like to have a pool table there, but for now it's our old kitchen table!

The mini-bar and kitchen area. It has a sink, little fridge and plenty of cabinets. Eventually we want to get some bar stools...and of course stock the fridge with sodas. The kids can't wait for that!

The family room-aka "Man Lair." Ryan wired it for surround sound, so someday we will have to do something about that! Right now it is a nice, cool place to go on hot summer days--and the kids have games, art supplies and a little T.V. to watch down there.

The bathroom! We did do all the tile in the bathroom and kitchen. The floors weren't hard, but the shower was. It did save us quite a bit of money--but if I never see a tile saw again, that is fine by me!

The Bedroom-which is currently a work-out room. We will gladly move the exercise stuff for anyone who wants to sleep there!

It looks beautiful! I know this is something you are going to really enjoy! I love our basement, especially when the boys have friends over and they have a place to hang out away from us grownups! Lucky you!

Ryan it looks like you are missing a big screen down there. Whats up with that! Or is that a big screen that I see. You better get on that if you are going to call it a "Man Lair"
